An Assistant Banqueting Manager is responsible for co-managing all banquets and events in the hotel to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while optimising sales, evaluating performance, and ensuring staffing levels meet demand.

What will I be doing?

As an Assistant Banqueting Manager, you will be responsible for co-managing all banquets and events in the hotel to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. An Assistant Banqueting Manager will also be required to optimise sales and ensure staffing levels meet demand.

Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Assist in managing all banquets and events
• Welcome guests in a polite and friendly manner
• Communicate and delegate tasks to the team
• Manage guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
• Evaluate guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
• Monitor the work sequences, taking in to account the service standards, for guaranteeing a consistent and convincing service before, during and after each event
• Assist F&B management with achieving financial targets
• Assist F&B management with training and development of team members
• Documents inventory forecast usage and monitors supplies
• Optimize Sales and contain costs, identifying any areas for action
• Managing staff performance issues in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Conduct annual and mid-year appraisals with team members under your responsibility
• Assist in recruiting, managing, training and developing your team
• Be environmentally aware
• Represent needs of the team and be a motivator
• Ensure accurate billing
• Assistant in monthly stock takes
• In the absence of the Banqueting Manager take full ownership of preparing workschedules and monitor personnel costs
• Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
• Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
• Ensure compliance of brand standards

An Assisting Banqueting Manager serving Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:
 

• Previous Banqueting experience and minimum 2 years supervisor experience in a banqueting role.
• Previous work experience in 4-5 star hotel or convention centre
• Strong knowledge of hotel/leisure/service sector
• Ability and drive to meet departmental targets
• Flexibility to work morning, afternoon and (late) evening shifts in case required
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage pairing
• Excellent knowledge of Conference & Banquets
• Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations
• Ability to coach and develop a team
• Natural leadership skills
• Positive attitude and natural motivator
• Excellent eye for detail
• Passion and commitment to delivering exceptional levels of guest service
• Able to think out of the box and be creative
• Excellent communication skills

• Knowledge of HACCP and allergen legislation
• Excellent grooming
• Our candidate must be in the possession of an EU-passport or a valid unrestricted work permit for The Netherlands

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

• Conference and Banquet Operations experience in a managerial position in hotel/Events Centre or similar
• Fluent Dutch speaking and writing
• Relevant educational background such as hotel management school
