What are you going to do?
Your role as Chef the Cuisine is to manage the day-to-day operations of the largest kitchen of the Conservatorium hotel. Together with your own Sous Chefs, you will be responsible for daily food service during breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service. In order to achieve the best results, you will invest in training and guiding your kitchen team, monitor quality and cost control.  You will support our Executive Chefs with the creation of new dishes and ensure that your Kitchen team is able to consistently create them. Working alongside with our Purchasing department, you ensure that we continue to use the best products our suppliers have to offer.
In addition to looking after the main kitchen, you ensure that our menu for room service is updated frequently and you work together with the other kitchens to ensure successful service in all areas of our kitchen brigade. Keeping to your budget, you schedule your team according to operational needs.
 
What will your 5-star luxury working environment look like?
You will take charge of a kitchen where around 25 chefs work daily to create sophisticated dishes. The team consists of culinary students, Demi Chef de Parties, Chef de Parties and Sous Chefs.  We use French techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to prepare our food, such as a Josper Barbecue. Our restaurant offers French classics with a signature twist by Schilo van Coevorden.
The kitchen is opened from 5:00AM by our Breakfast Chefs, during the day other chefs will come and take over the shifts that could end as late as 23:00PM. When applying for this role, please make sure you are able to arrive early mornings or leave late at night and still be able to get home comfortably.
 
Who are you?
An experienced Head Chef or senior Sous-Chef that is used to offering his/her guests an incredible food experience in a high-end environment. You are energetic and have the necessary leadership skills to train, coach and motivate a diverse team of Chefs. Furthermore, you have:
  • Passion, skill and knowledge regarding the French Cuisine;
  • Excellent verbal knowledge of the English language, Dutch is preferred;
  • Ability to work well under pressure;
  • Drive to succeed and the ability to overcome obstacles;
  • Experience with creating menus and concept development.
