Are you new leader with a passion for International “Italian cuisine and exceptional service? ROYAL98, an acclaimed international food concept located in the heart of Amsterdam since October 2016, is seeking a dynamic Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. Our menu highlights international dishes combined with authentic Italian pasta and wood-fired pizzas, complemented by a warm, friendly service.

Located in the bustling center of Amsterdam, ROYAL98 is renowned for its delicious International and Italian offerings and inviting atmosphere. We share our vibrant locale with our esteemed neighbor, Swissôtel Amsterdam, for whom we provide breakfast and room service. After breakfast we start with all day dining. Our commitment to excellence extends from our food to our guest experience, making ROYAL98 a beloved destination for both locals and tourists.




Position: Head Chef

*Responsibilities:

- Lead and inspire a dedicated kitchen team, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.

- Oversee the preparation and presentation of our dishes, make sure it is prepared to the highest standards of quality and taste.

- Manage inventory, ordering, and kitchen supplies to maintain efficiency and minimize waste.

- Develop new menu items and specials

- Collaborate with the management team to deliver outstanding breakfast and room service for Swissôtel Amsterdam guests.

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations (HACCP).

- Recruit, train and manage your kitchen team. Schedule shifts. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.

*Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Head Chef or established Sous Chef, preferably in an International & Italian cuisine-focused establishment.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Creative and passionate, but good humor is essential

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
